Amilado Press reimagines the classic and nostalgic sticker vending machine with small handmade screenprints. For just two quarters per print, guests at Silverwood Park at Saint Anthony Minnesota can collect nine different nature-inspired mini screenprints dispensed from a refurbished sticker vending machine.
Nancy Ariza, founder of Amilado Press, invited me along with fellow artists Lynda Grafito, and Genessis Lopez, to feature our work in the first iteration of this fun printmaking project. I designed artworks to be screenprinted by Amilado in a postcard-size format. I am really happy to have my work available to the general public at the park, along with such talented artists.
In the words of Nancy Ariza:
“The staff at the park let me know that the mini prints are bringing so much joy to visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Visitors are collecting and trading them. Some are stopping by the park specifically for the mini prints, and others are introduced to screenprinting for the first time.”
